Full Time Detention Deputy
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has full time Detention Deputy Positions available.
Starting Pay: $18.66 per hour. After the successful completion and certification of Idaho P.O.S.T Academy, pay will increase to $19.39 per hour.
This is a shift work position. Shifts are 12 hours long and work a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule. You will work 14 days in a 28 day pay period. This includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description: Deputies are responsible for the supervision of inmates and security of the Madison County Detention Center. Intake and releasing of new inmates, conducting searches on inmates and cells. Transporting inmates throughout East Idaho and beyond. Monitoring cameras, phone systems, conducting scheduled checks, inmate recreation, overseeing court proceedings, meals, and medical needs of inmates.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Be able to pass the P.O.S.T. physical test (requirements can be found on the Idaho P.O.S.T.
- Work rotating weekends, holidays, day shift or night shift (12 hour shifts)
- Valid Idaho drivers’ license
- Pass a polygraph
- Must pass back ground check
